The GPRC Testing Centre is proud to be a Pearson VUE Authorized Centre administering the computer-based GED.
Computer based testing allows for more available testing dates, a more flexible testing schedule and faster results.
If you are a Canadian adult and require a high school diploma, one of the ways to obtain an equivalency diploma is to write and successfully pass all five tests on the GED (General Education Development) exam. To be eligible to write the GED exam, you must be 18 years old or older, and have been out of high school for at least 10 consecutive months.
Many employers will recognize a high school equivalency diploma as the same as a high school diploma, so if your employer requires you to have a high school diploma, please discuss with them if the GED is an option for you.
For most post-secondary programs, the GED is not considered an appropriate prerequisite. If you want to further your education, please ensure you contact your institution or program of choice to discuss the prerequisites. If the GED is not appropriate, you may wish to consider taking your prerequisite courses through Academic Upgrading at Grande Prairie Regional College
Exams can be taken consecutively or one subject at a time and cost $40.00 USD per exam. Registration and exam booking/payment MUST be completed online.
